The gpt-realtime-1.5-2026-02-23 and gpt-audio-1.5-2026-02-23 models are now available on Azure AI Foundry.

The Realtime API is designed for low-latency interactions, but it is not a magic wand. Most users of the Realtime API need to deliver and receive audio from an end-user in real time. The API is not designed to connect directly to end-user devices — it relies on client integrations to terminate end-user audio streams. Plan your server-side relay carefully if you’re building browser or mobile-first voice experiences: an extra network hop to your ASP.NET Core backend before hitting the WebSocket endpoint will cost you milliseconds that users will notice.
